Helen W. Kennedy is Head of the School of Media at the University of Brighton, UK. Her current research interests are feminist interventions into games culture, experience design and cultural evaluation. She is currently Principle Investigator in an AHRC funded Immersive Experience Project – XR: CIRCUS.
She has published widely in game studies, and is Industry Lead in an international project aimed at the wholescale diversification and transformation of games (REFIG.ca).
The panel will explore what is required for us, as a society, to not only build more inclusive and diverse virtual spaces, but also ensure that those building these new virtual worlds represent the diverse nature of the real world .
